Decorating Ideas for a Christmas Wedding

From the SuperWeddings Archives Like a touch of magic, glitter transforms the stylish into the spectacular. Candles glisten. Gifts gleam. The room glows. Rolled into a swirl pattern and covered in glitter, these beeswax candles are sure to add a fiery sparkle to any holiday decor. The rich color of the candles, combined with their shimmery effect, adds warmth and glamor. Grouped upon a coordinating pillar candle tray, then set upon a reflective surface and surrounded by a scattering of glass beads, your reception room with be awash with a glittering display of sparkling, reflective light.

The rich texture of raw silk inspired these elegant pillars, whose pearly hues and iridescent finish seem to glow when lit. Striking and versatile, they look luscious in a group or classic with a simple Pillar Holder. When presented on a gilded pillar like the one shown, and surrounded by pearl bead garlands, an opulent, if not slightly exotic mood, is the wonderful result.

Shiny, shimmering golden candles of rolled beeswax will make your reception room come alive with glitzy sophistication. Stunning centerpieces emerge by simply grouping the candles in combinations of different sizes and placing upon glitter inlaid Italian glass plates which give off a fiery sparkle even when the lights are low. For accent, dot the plates and table with diamond-cut glass beads, and add a few shiny red Christmas balls for contrast and an effect which looks utterly astonishing. The red and glitzy gold combination makes a stunning visual statement. The secret to making a relatively simple centerpiece design like this work so amazingly well lies in selecting just the right individual components. The exceptional appearance of these rolled beeswax glitter candles make the world of difference in this design. Then, fine details like the glass beads, red balls, and gorgeous glitter infused plates help to carry the day. Use discriminating taste, and hunt for extra-special items to experience the difference between ordinary and extraordinary. Make no mistake, your guests will notice your exceptional attention to detail.

Outside it may be frightful but inside your reception room, the snow is oh so delightful! Trimmed with hints of wintry weather, these pretty and pristine pieces embellish every setting with charm. Like holiday garlands, silver strands wrap themselves around these snow-white spiral candles and accentuate their beauty. Grouping the candles in collections of different sizes and shapes, as opposed to using all the same, will add visual interest. Placing the group on a mirror platform helps increase the perceived size of the centerpiece as its reflection is captured. The caviar pearl bead garland lends the soft, frothy, 'snowy' effect that absolutely caps off this look to total perfection. Just another example of how a very simple-to-assemble design can be absolutely stunning when the right pieces and combinations are used.

Who needs moonlight when you can bask in the radiance of the night sky with shimmering crystal centerpiece designs? The brilliance of these 15-point crystal candle holders is the result of 128 tiny facets sending light in every direction at once. Placing them on a mirror platform gives you double the twinkle and shine. As wonderful as a design like this is at holiday season, it's nonetheless perfect for weddings at any time of the year.

Silver-Leaf Filled Tealights glow warmly and reflect the light and colors around them. They make a lovely accent piece for a mantel or buffet table; or, for a scintillating centerpiece present them on a mirror platform, add a swirl of shimmering organza ribbon (we chose a gold ribbon to contrast beautifully with the silver and play off the pretty gold accents on the holders) toss in a few glass beads or a delicate bear garland, and you're all set!
