Theme Weddings
I'm looking for suggestions for a theme for my wedding. I haven't been to too many weddings, so all of this is new to me. If anyone has theme suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks 02 Jan 2007 08:40

fantasy ball wedding
I'm planning a Fantasy Ball for my wedding reception. I'm actually stuck for cheap stunning ideas to do up the place we're having it in. The invites will tell the guests that they must wear any type of costume that personifies any character they wish to be and there'll be some small prizes too, eg. best dressed couples, best impersonator, etc. just to make it fun. I have some fairy lights that can go on the walls and I plan on having lots of candles, but how to bring the fantasy theme out further inexpensively is the problem. I thought of making papermache bowls in bright and brilliant colours and
perhaps try my hand a paper lanterns and try to get offcuts of that silver foil type bags that use as wine bags to cover the tables with. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Wedding Themes
There are so many possibilities of themes out there. Some ppl choose to use there colors as a theme. Some ppl have use a more specific theme. Ask yourself "are there any special interests you and your FH share that could inspire your wedding?", s/a do you like hiking, visiting wineries, traveling, etc. You can base a lot off of just that. I know a bride who had her wedding at a local vineyard and it was amazing. Her colors were wine and ivy green. She used grapes and ivy all over. It was beautiful. Also, when are you planning on having a wedding? You can do a lot with the season itself. Here is a list of a few ideas for you:

*Cinderella & Prince Charming

*Vineyard Theme

*Season's-Christmas, Valentine's, Autumn Harvest, Summer, Fourth of July (if you're having a holiday inspired wedding, be sure to let out-of-towners know well in advance so they can plan for the event)

*Traveling Abroad

*Hollywood Theme (very elegant with black and silver/gold colors)

*Garden Theme

*Ethnic Theme (use your ethnic background to incorporate your theme i.e. Irish-green and gold; English-English Tea theme; Southern-elegant barbecue; you have to use your imagination, but I've seen it done with all of these and all amazing weddings!)

*Beach/Boat theme

There are so many ideas, if you need any help with more ideas, let me know. Hope this helps. Congrats and Good luck to you!

Western Wedding
My finance is really into horses. So therefore I am planning a Western type wedding. I am using galvanized buckets for my flowergirls baskets and i am using horseshoes tied to a ribbon for my ringbearers. It is going to be an outside wedding so I plan to use galvanized buckets with red & white roses hung on Shepard Hooks down the aisle. We can then take those buckets and rose petals and set them on the tables at the reception. I plan on making every bit of my stuff. I have bought little 3" cowboy hats in black & white and I am going to buy the cheap guestbook, pens, serving set & flutes at Walmart and add ribbon and those hats to them and coordinate everything. I am having so much fun with this. 30 Apr 2007 20:29

Theme Weddings
Hi Chloe,
If you are planning for Beach Wedding. I will give you some suggestion on Beach Theme Wedding, there are too many themes on
beach. There are numerous wedding decorations and favors that will suit a water theme. The backdrop of a beach setting offers natural blues and greens, and all you'll need to add is some accent colors to your tables or wedding venue. Use sea-themed decor such as starfish and seahorse shapes, glass bowls filled with sand, and blue and green foliage to fit with a seaside theme. For a more nautical feel, incorporate lighthouse decor or ropes tied around candles. Give guests seashell chocolates or even personalized packets of fruity drink mix for favors.
If you want to purchase any gift related to beach wedding themes then this url help you http://www.beachthemeweddingshop.com/. They sells gifts or wedding products online

Vintage/glam!
I'm getting married in October and I'm not really overdoing it, as in giving my wedding a solid theme, but instead adding a touch of vintage. Subtly in my invitations, and decor. The bridesmaids will wear vintage/glam style black dresses of their choice, and I'll have accents of black lace and blue ribbon(my colours). And just to top it off, the table cards and seating plan will be vintage wedding couple photos. 21 Jul 2009 12:43

I attended a great wedding in Monterey where the groom was an avid cyclist, so they used a few really neat props in the theme of cycling - not cheesy - trust me!

Wedding Gifts for Young Couples
Brides and grooms are making things much easier on their guests nowadays. When it comes to wedding present shopping, most couples pick a few stores, set up a bridal registry of gifts they’d like to receive, and leave guests to choose items from their lists.
And while shopping from the gift registry is sure to secure a present you know the happy couple will want and enjoy, it doesn’t leave you with the most original, creative wedding present by any stretch.
If you want to give the bride and groom a gift they will love and cherish for years to come, you had better find something besides that decorative potholder set or the trio of mixing bowls. Here are just a few creative options for your consideration.

For the cultured couple
Find a stunning piece of artwork – a painting, a sculpture – or get a professional artist to render a sketch or painting from a photograph you provide of the happy couple. For friends with a passion for music, consider passes to the orchestra, the symphony, or the opera.

For the domestic couple
If your friends love to cook and/or eat, get them a unique cooking appliance. Forget about your run of the mill mini kitchen gadgets and devices… you need something unusual and unforgettable. Better yet, get them something they can both use at the same time – like a fondue set, or Raclette, a Swiss dish that has a grill on top of the appliance and little dishes to melt cheese or heat sauce underneath.

For the fun-loving couple
For spur of the moment, say anything, try anything once type friends, the wedding is sure to be a blast and your gift had better be, too! Ponder a few upscale game sets that would nicely accent their fun style. Check out dartboards that come with their own solid wood cabinet, or look for other social items. Scour the glassware section for a classy margarita set, some shooters, and other useful barware items.

For the sentimental couple
Ahh, the memories. If your best friend or a close relative is just about to tie the knot, think about all your memories together and the best possible gift may come to mind. Create a memory book or a scrapbook for your friend, showcasing many times you spent together. Use your own handiwork to craft a handmade blanket. Pick out some velvety photo albums and elegant photo frames so the new couple can fill their home with happy memories and images of loved ones. Rack your brain for any details about the couple’s first date, the proposal, or any event in the relationship that could relate to a gift of some sort. Indulge them with a gift basket if you think of too many memories!

Decor
I create custom decals for dance floors and decor. The decals adhere to just about any smooth surface & are easily removable. It is great if you want to reuse the surface for another project or resale your items without your personalization after the wedding. They also stick on many different fabrics & are great for an affordable option to painted aisle runners.
