Pink and Brown. I think of rich and sultry chocolates wrapped in pink bows lots of Roses and a chocolate dessert fountain. It will be fall and so beautiful.

This color scheme is "it" in 2007. Its super-hot this year! We call it "pink chocolate"! Yummy! Its really pretty easy to carry this out. Just use combinations of those two colors everywhere. Consider using a combination of brown and pink table covers throughout the reception (instead of just one color all the way through). Napkins can be brown if the table cloths are pink and vice versa. You can also use table overlays if you want (thats a shorter table cloth that goes on top of other one to give it a 'layered' effect). If you have a brown table cloth, use a pink overlay and vice versa. Bridesmaids can wear pink dresses with a brown shouler wrap or sash at the waist, or brown dresses witha pink wrap or sash. Center pieces could be pink roses in a matte brown short square vase. And of course, the cake could be yummy chocolate with pink icing, accented with brown fondant leaves or flowers, or it could be iced in brown, and accented with pink. The cake itself could be strawberry (pink) of you dont want to go with chocolate. Or consider a combination of strawberry and cholocate layers. Chocolate, coffee, or mocha brown combine really nicely with sort of a medium pink, but other shades of pink can work too. What you might find helpful is to go to the paint deparment of your local Home Depot or a store like that, and pick up some of those sample color cards they have in shades of brown and shades of pink, then play around with mixing and matching different colors until you find a combination that really seems to work for you. Then use that as your guide and try to match to those shades for your wedding. For flowers, you can go with pinks, or pink and beige hues (if you water down brown enough you get beige, so think beige carnations or roses mixed in with pink flowers), then bring in the brown hue with a big luxurios bow on each bouquet. This really looks stunning. Of course, you'd need to go with the hand-tied style of bouquet to incorporate a voluptuous bow like this. Alternating the colors for the bridesmaids would work just fine. If you do that, alternative the colors of the cumberbunds and bow ties for the groomsmen between brown and pink too.

 For my pink and brown wedding, here is what I have selected so far. My wedding invitations are brown paper with pink ink - they look stunning. My cake is dark brown (chocolate) fondant with pink detailing. I'm attaching the picture I showed my wedding cake designer. It looks stunning AND scrumptious!!! I have dark chocolate (brown) bon bons for favors in shiny pink boxes, tied with a bronzy brown ribbon-bow. My brides maids are wearing pink dresses with bown sashes and brown shoes. My table coverings are brown with pink overlays (over cloths), and brown linen napkins. Havent worked out the centerpieces yet, but I'll update ya'll when I figure that one out. Strawberry pink and chocolate brown sounds like a really yummy combination! Those color tones should look great together. To get ideas for how to dress your girls, I'd suggest that you start going into stores that carry bridesmaid dresses or cocktail dresses etc to look for ideas because Pink and Brown is a really hot color scheme right now, and also super-popular for weddings at this time, so I think you should see lots of it in these types of stores. Once you start seeing it, you'll get lots of ideas for what the girls can wear. In terms of your mom, she can really wear any color she likes. The mother of the bride does not have to coordinate with the wedding party, she simply shouldnt pick a color that blatantly clashes. Generally, the Mother of the Bride gets to pick her own color and her own dress, but if she wants your help, you can make suggestions. You should ask her if she;s got anything in mind, and maybe the two of you could browsing together. Its a great opportunity for mother-daughter bonding! Some of my most special memories in my life are of me and my mom preparing for my wedding together, and shopping for her dress. Almost makes me cry just thinking about it, and this was quite a good number of years ago!

Hi All!
I am also having a pink and brown wedding...on October 6, 2007. I recently hired a wedding planner (only three days ago) and already she has helped me secure the chapel, the chocolate fountains and the photographer! I booked the DJ, reception hall, and limo last October. She is incredible! Throwing a wedding is a HUGE undertaking in addition to your regular life...so hiring her was the best investment I\'ve made. She\'ll do everything...right down to decorating the hall which leaves me time to spend with my bridesmaids who are from out of town.
Of course, I am having a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting (very similar in color to the one pictured above) although the cake style is stacked with roses on alternating layers. A grooms cake in peanut butter is planned for my Andy (since he is a peanut butter nut.) He is going to be dressed all in white...and the groomsmen will be in brown tuxes. The girls will be in latte colored dresses with pink floral bouquets. Tables will be decorated with brown napkins and tall and short vases (tied with pink/brown ribbon) filled with pink gerberas. Programs and menus (also done by the wedding planner) will be in matching colors although I am still working on this. Many things are still to be decided, but this is certainly SO much fun!
I am thinking of chocolate cigars as favors for the men and chocolate \"something\" for the women.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and I'll update more later.

bridesmaids dresses are a cafe (khakish) with brown bow around the waist. They will have pink bouqets to incorp the pink. The guys i found a brown suit and they will have cafe vests , ties i\'m not sure yet. Flower girl white dress pink bow. The junior bridesmaid is wearing a ivory dress i haven\'t decided if she should wear a bow since her dress is one she had already i\'m not too picky!
Decorations my tables already come with white sheets so i am having a strip of brown satin run down the middle. I am also incorp. brown and pink napkins down the strip of the brown satin there will be voties and rose petals. i had this problem too for a while. i wanted a winter wedding with whites, crystal, and baby blue snow flake theme , didn\'t happen haha.
instead Sept. fall. i was not thrilled with the whole red , yellow, brown orange, thanksgiving theme. its nice just not me. so i thought the brown worked well and khaki with fall and the pink i incorporated to soften it up. but i have come to realize i could have gotten away with summer colors since i live in south texas and fall definetly comes much later, its still summer over here. | 05 Jun 2007 17:13 |

I just saw that someone posted the that their groom and groomsmen are wearing black with brown accents. I like the idea of the brown accents for I have been worried about what the men will wear for the groom is not willing to wear a brown tux/suit. Do you think that the black will look ok? The reception hall also has white table linen that I will use and I loved the picture with the table runner!! I want to use that. is it the cushion that's burgundy or the whole chair ? Our chairs are different colors actually I can't even remember what color they are we didn't really worry about it because we figured most pictures taken the people would be sitting and covering it with their body ha-ha. The only thing I can think of would be using ribbons to decorate them or try to incorporate the color in yours. For example I couldn't really match all the pink with everything I had. Everyone I talk to has said not to worry about the chair covers. The chair pad and the back rest are the burgandy color. I will just have to deal with it. I had this problem too. We have fixed it. I orignally had brown dresses for the girls with pink bows on the waist. The guys were wearing tan suits. Then the girls changed it, they have cafe dresses with brown bows. They also didn't like the tan for the guys. They thought it was too informal. I did NOT like the black tux with brown vest or tie. I really hate black and brown together. Next option was brown suits but the shade we found was bad eww not dark enough. So now we are going with black tuxes and cafe vests or ties that match the girls dresses. This way there is still brown but its not so much it clashes with the black. I am getting married in March next year and have always wanted pink to be my staple colour. I tried mixing it with silver, which looked stunning but couldnt get the invites to look good, so i changed to champagne and pink or brown and pink. I really, really, really like the brown and pink theme, but the problem is I dont want too much brown in my reception. My bridesmaids are all wearing pink (no brown on the guys or gals). Unless I can find a nice tie for my groom????

HI all...Im getting married 11.10.07 and my colors are chocolate brown and pale pink. Basically everything is already planned besides a few details...here is what I have: My save the dates are brown magnets with a cartoon bride and groom and our faces superimposed on the bodies, with pink lettering. I love them but HUGE mistake due to sending them out so long ago and now i dont want to invite some people I already sent them to. Also my tables have a pink tablecloth with a Chocolate brown overlay (for the layered look), a pink napkin and a brown napkin that will be inside of the wine glass, the chairscovers will be satin brown with a pink sash. Flowers are pale pink gerbs with brown centers in a round over sized vase with crystals inside, my fiancee thought of the idea of putting lights inside the vases to make them pop!! We also have 5 tea lights with ribbon with our name and date of wedding. The ladies are wearing brown dresses with pink sashes and the men are wearing brown pin stripped tuxes with champagne colored ties, girls will have the pink gerbs and i will be carrying pink roses. boys will have the gerbs and my groom will have the pink rose. They didn\'t like the tan either I did but they thought it wasn\'t formal enough. We are going with black tuxes and a almost cafe vest and tie. Its\' not really cafe but a tan/ dark sand looking color it looks nice for us. The girls are wearing brown and that color.  I was married Sept. 30th, 2006 and I did a pink & brown wedding. My husband is a bit of a cowboy, and wanted a little bit of western theme as well, so I tried my best to mix the two of our tastes. I think it turned out beautifully!!
My bridesmaids wore chocolate brown dresses with a pink sash & carried pink gerber daisies tied with brown ribbon. Groom and best man wore brown vests. (believe it or not it looked good with the black suit) I carried pink and white gerber daisies also tied with brown ribbon. To incorporate the western theme at the reception, we used pink and brown bandanas over the table cloths & I had pink and brown gerber daisies in a cowboy boot, surrounded by candles for the centerpieces. We also used the bandanas, & hand made favors. They were cut, filled with candy & tied with rope. My cake was 3-tier, white, with brown fondant ribbon at the bottom of each tier, pink dots on each tier, topped with a hand made crystal embellished monogram topper & also pink gerber daisies.
His was just a chocolate cake garnished with chocolate covered strawberries & topped with a copper star.

Hi Everyone! I am SO happy to hear of other people using pink and brown on June 21st! Everyone thought I was nuts because it is suppose to be "Spring like". The bridesmaid dresses are latte (light brown) and I was thinking of having big hot pink gerber daisies as the bouquets + center pieces for the wedding.
A few problems.... I am also wondering about colors for the tuxes my fiance won't let his boys wear any sort of pink and does pink and brown (latte in my case) look ok??
Also... all the favors I find are either chocolate brown and light pink or chocolate brown and hot pink... I am so confused as what to do.
I would love any pictures that anyone has for pink and brown ideas and the brown tux pics... :) Thanks so much!!

Its very universal as far as seasons go. I'm also doing a mocha and pink wedding...in January. It'll be my 2nd wedding and we're going simple, but I love these colors together.
My 13 yr old daughter and I were talking the other day and we came up w/the idea that instead of using Jordan almonds for favors or on the reception tables in dishes, we're going to mix the brown whoppers and the pink strawberry whoppers together!!! Brown and PINK...wicked idea, it just hit me as I was eating some of the strawberry ones the other day.
I'm making our invitations so I can make sure that I get JUST the right shades of pinks and browns (we only need about 50 invites, anyway). I'm doing ALL my own flowers, and I'm even making our 3 tiered wedding cake...w/pale pink fondant over each tier and mocha colored fondant draped as decorations...as well as wide brown satin ribbing around the bottom rim of each tier...those are just a few of my ideas that I'm doing...it's turning out to be so much fun!! | 03 Oct 2007 04:28 |

Hey Amy,
The "not so clever" remark appears if the system detects something that makes it think a hacker or spammer is attacking it - so it blocks the post, and gives that little message, which is really amusing if it IS a hacker, but less amusing if its an innocent mistake! Its part of the board's built in security system to prevent inappropriate content as well as other hacker attacks. Sometimes the system can get confused and give that message when there is absolutely nothing wrong because there are different things that can trigger it. Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. My wedding was April 7, 2007. My colors were blush pink, truffle brown, and ivory with hints of champagne. I received strange looks when I announced my colors but they were stunning. It had to be the richest chocolate I could find. My maid of honor wore a blush pink dress,matrons of honor wore a truffle gown with a blush pink sash, bms wore truffle brown dresses. Jr bride wore a ivory gown with rumpink trim to match my gown, and my flower girl wore and ivory gown with a truffle sash. My husband and jr groom wore a black tux with a ivory vest and tie. The best man wore a black tux with a blush pink vest and tie. His guys wore a black tux with a truffle vest and tie.
The pink and brown whoppers were a great idea thats what I did. I had a huge candy buffet with lots of pink and brown candies. I used chocolate and strawberry BB bats, sundaes(pink, and brown coconut candies) and caramels, hersey kisses, and so many more. Also because it was Easter I had candies that were easter colors also. MMs and everything. It was so much fun. I also did candy covered pretzels. I dipped the large ones. I added red food coloring to the vanilla candy. I put one pink and one chocolate in a clear bag from micheals with the twist tie. I made my own name tags on ivory card stock with our initials and wedding date in a pink font. I punched a hole in the tag and tied them around the top of the bag with some pink curling ribbon. I have so many ideas if anyone is interested just send a post. Hey Amy, I did want to see what the brown tux looked like but where I lived it was hard to get the tux. I was nervous about the black tux but when I saw it together it was so nice. They photographed well also. Part of my gift to the ladies were their shoes and we chose gold strappy sandals. That's wierd. That's not supposed to happen. People often post links to other sites and they go through. The trouble with all this technology is that, as cool as it is, these computers and software sometimes think they know better than we do! I guess something in the message or the link was either confusing it, or causing it to think someone was trying to hack it. I've talked with the technical adminstrator in the past, and he told me that's the only time the not so clever message is supposed to show up, but he also explained to me that all these built in security features do get confused and make mistakes sometimes. For the pink & brown color scheme, I would put the men of the wedding party in chocolate brown tuxes. My best friend had a fall themed wedding, using fall leaves, hay, champagne bridesmaid dresses, etc. I suggested choc. tuxes for hers as well but she didn't like that idea. I think the black looks too harsh and brown isn't anything outrageous like a green suit or something! Just a subtle difference from the traditional black tux.
I think brown tableclothes with clear vases holding clear rocks and then simple, pink flowers-tulips possibly? Depending on the flow of the wedding, you could use carnations, roses, tulips, daisies-the possibilities are endless.

Hey everyone! My wedding was October 7, 2006 and my color scheme was Pink & Chocolate Brown. I used pink drops on the tables with Chocolate Brown overlays. I then used chocolate brown seat covers and pink sashes on the chairs. All of my favors for my guests were cookies that had our monogram on them in Chocolate Brown and Pink pearling around the edges. I also had a card box designed to imitate a beautiful chocolate brown & pink cake that I wasn't able to get. Hello!
I am planning my August 2008 wedding. I also chose the pink and chocolate wedding scheme. While browsing a bridesmaids brochure for dresses my fiance noticed the chocolate brown tuxedos. They are very elegant. A local bridal store offers them. I chose the pink hues of lipstick for the bridemaids and princess for the honor attendants. The bridemaids dresses will be in two separate styles solid pink with a chocolate ribbon accent. The guys' vest and ties will coordinate with the two shades of pink. I will be wearing a formal ivory gown. I have not chosen a flower girl dress yet. Forever Bridals has a nice selection of bridesmaids attire that can be combined in your specific colors.
I have already chosen my flower combinations of pink and white roses, and calla lillies becuse they are my favorites.... I am using a large collanade archway and will be incorporating lots of live green plants ass well. I am considering a traditional wedding cake decorated with pink roses and white calla lilies. The groom's cake will be chocolate/chocolate with chocolate coated stawberries or sugared pecans (he's deciding between favorites).
That is as far as I've managed to get.. This is a first time for me and my job does not afford me the luxury of a whole lot of time. I basically use the web for ideas and inspirations. Then I save pictures or write down descriptions and share them with local vendors. I will gladly apprciate any additional ideas you ladies could offer. Here are the centerpieces that I have for sale. I also have the beaded garland and the pink and brown lanterns hanging from the ceiling. We put 10 hour votives in the centerpieces and with the lights turned down it created a most romantic and beautiful glow in the entire room.

I made my own invities, I am using taylor rental for tablecloths, found my dress's at Davids. BM's brown with pink sash, 1 groomswoman wearing same style but reversed colors. Hello all! I am doing a pink, brown and ivory wedding as well. I am not getting Married till May of 2009. I know that's a year away but I have to start planning now so we can afford it all.
I was thinking about ivory table covers with pink rose center pieces and brown favor boxes. Would that look alright? My center pieces are going to be small vases with a small bouquet of flowers and conversation hearts as a filler. We are also going to have pink and ivory rose petals on the table around the vase. We are also going to have mini hershey chocolate candy bars personalized and put on the table. Just a few mixed in with the petals. They would be Pink! Do you think that is too much, some days I think the candy is too much.
My bridesmaids flowers are going to ivory with brown ribbon and my bouquet is going to be pink with brown & ivory ribbon. Our flower girl is going to have ivory and pink petals. The girls are going to wear pink. Not sure what the guys are going to wear yet. Any suggestions. My dress is ivory and pink.

My wedding is Oct 11th 08 and I've got so many ideas I feel like it's pink and brown overload! But I love it anyways...
I'm having a sweet table, and I see has become popular... I'll have cookies & candy in pink & brown. So far I've come up with M&M's, salt water taffy (the neopolitan kind), jelly beans, big cute lollipops, and chocolate (you can dye white choc. pink with a little red food coloring) dipped pretzles with pink/brown sprinkles. I'm making a sign for the table that says "How Sweet it is...to be Loved by You".
Bridesmaids are wearing tea length strapless chocolate brown dresses with a pink sash, jr.brides maids are in the opposite...pink w/brown sash, flower girl dress is ivory like mine. I contemplated having the groomsman in brown with pale pink vests, but I don't want it to be overkill with my color scheme so I'm going with black with a pink vest and the goom will be in black with a cafe vest (I have cafe accents on my dress so it works well).
I love my centerpieces...I couldn't afford to do all flowers so on half I'm having vases filled with pink and brown sand and an ivory candle on a mirror with little crystal pieces scattered around. It looks really good and you can play with the sand and have different layers and designs!
I'm also incorporating polka dots quite a bit. Its easy to find pink and brown polka dots and it loks great. They're on the card box I made, the bridesmaids purses, my invitations and on the cake. I have chosen latte and pink and accent with cream for my colors.
i love them together, the only problem i have is this....
i cant find anything other than dresses that are LATTE..
napkins, favors, tablecloths, everything is chocolate brown.
my thought is this, im thinking of adding chocolate as another accent..
is this too much??
so far, bridesmaid dresses are latte. im going to use pink flowers and pink jewlery.
im going to have a chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows.

I think brown would be a great accent to the colors you have! I'm using mainly brown and accenting with latte (aka cafe) and ivory. I don't think you can go wrong with your color scheme, the colors work very well together. However, I wouldn't use brown for tablecloths, maybe as a runner on rectangular or square tables, I think they would be better cream or ivory, too much brown can be over powering. | 29 Apr 2008 23:17 |

It seems like everyone is having trouble with groomsman wear as well, as did I. I tried every combination of brown, latte, pink, and black...trust me.
It definately depends on what your girls are wearing... If the girls are predominantly in brown, a brown tux looks funny, hard to match and an overload of brown.
I think brown tuxes could look great if your bridesmaids are in pink or latte, but rememebr that not every aspect of your wedding has to be in your color scheme! I went way out of control for a while and realized that if I don't have some neutrals to balance everything out the colors will take over and no one will notice some of the important things.
Latte and ivory looks great if the dresses are dark, but my family is traditional and I decided on black tuxes with a light pink vest. Black is classic and you can't go wrong with it. Looks great with latte, ivory, or pink vests and basically every color of bridesmaids dresses. I would put the groom in ivory or have his vest a differnt color so he stands out...mine is in black with a latte vest.

Yes, the trend is still going very strong, so it should still be hot next year. Even *if* it cools a little (which I dont think it will), it doesnt matter, because you should follow your own sense of style for your wedding, instead of being dictated to by a trend. So glad I found this site! I am having a pink and brown themed with hints of pool blue (an aqua blue) wedding May 16th 2009. My save the dates I made myself with ivory cardstock and a cherry blossom stamp from Joann Fabrics.
Still stuck on groomsmen . . . darn them not wanting to wear pink vests and ties with chocolate brown tuxes. So far my dresses are going to be floor length espresso brown with a tea rose sash
And what I think I will do is have the groomsmen in black tuxes, with espresso brown vests, and try to find a tie thats mostly espresso brown with hints of pink. The ties are harder then I thought; I spent 4 hours in the mall looking and found a total of 7 (5 of them were $95 each! ahh), none of which are pictured online, so if your looking it\'s best to go into stores, or google brown and pink ties. But I still haven\'t been able to find a mostly brown tie with little pink.
The color scheme came from my cake from Martha Stewart, brown fondont with pink cherry blossoms falling down from the top tier. Under the cake we will build a stand that will have the aqua blue color (maybe pink or brown too). I will probably have pink rose petals around the cake. I\'m not really sure how else to decorate the cake table without over powering or taking away from the cake, any ideas. As for the tables I am making 1ftx1ft brown squares, boardered in 2in of aqua, and that is bordered in 1in of pink, with a butterfly applique in one of the corners to honor a decieced grandmother. On those table mats will be 3 varying heights of glass cylinders, with fake cherry blossom stems submerged in water (got the blossoms from Michaels $3) Still looking around for the best price on cylinders though. Then we will have votive holders with the same pattern that I used for my save the dates painted onto the glass with our names and date as a favor, and then a little treat box filled with some homemade goody.
Orginally I tried to find maids dresses in the same color as the invites I fell in love with from Michaels, they are BRIDES brand and are a medium pink color with a white and chocolate floral pattern, but now that I have decided to go with light pink (tea rose) I don\'t know if I should return all the medium pink stuff or try to incorporate the medium pink. . . . Let me know what you think.

My husband and I were married in Las Vegas over 5 years ago. Since we didn't have a "real wedding", we've decided to renew our vows on our 10th anniversary and have a huge bash with all of our family and friends. Our colors are many shades of pink and chocolate brown. I've started planning now because it will be more affordable to pay for it over time.
We did have a reception for a first wedding but no one was at our ceremony. Since we had the big wedding cake at the first reception, we will be having a cupcake tiered cake with a small top layer cake for us. Chocolate with pink frosting, I will be taking a cake decorating class and will be making them myself.
My question is... How else can I cut down my budget by making items myself? I'm making my own chocolate mocha truffles as favors(I've made them for many weddings) and I have many talented women in my family that would love to help!
Also, in my first wedding, NO ONE was there, no bridesmaids, groomsmen or family at all. Is it ok to have a big wedding party for a renewal ceremony? I'm not sure of the protocol.
