CENTERPIECE IDEAS???
I AM GETTING MARRIED IN OCTOBER 18NTH 2008. MY WEDDING WILL BE AT MY CO-WORKERS HOUSE IN THE BACKYARD. I HAVE A A PRETTY LOW BUDGET. I NEED HELP DECIDING ON CENTERPIECES. WE ARE GETTING MARRIED IN THE DAYTIME, SO I REALLY DON'T WANT TO DO CANDLES. I REALLY DON'T WANT REAL FLOWERS, CUZ THEY COST TOO MUCH AND I DON'T WANT THEM TO DIE HALF WAY THROUGH THE RECEPTION. SO WE WERE THINKING FAKE FLOWERS IN A VASE OR SOMETHING. (WE'RE DOING TROPICAL FLOWERS) I'M LOST!!! HELP!!!!

THANKS!!

I found that a great way to find ideas on centerpieces and general decor is to go to your search engine and do a search for "wedding decorations" or "wedding centerpieces". Then just start browsing through all the sites you find. You'll be amazed at what you find!

Also, you can get the items needed for do it yourself projects really pretty cheap at this website.......

Hope
this helps!

Good Luck!!!

alternative to flowers
I hear you on the flower idea. Not only are they incredibly expensive but I\'ve been to weddings before where the flowers were already wilting by the time we sat down to eat. I\'m going to have candles on my tables since it\'s an evening reception but instead of flowers I\'m doing freeze dried petals scattered over the tables. They\'re a lot cheaper than fresh flowers and they don\'t wilt since they\'re freeze dried. I\'d never heard of them before but I got the idea from the same place where I bought my wedding favors: http://www.momentsofelegance.com I\'m also considering doing bonsai trees for the centerpieces or some other type of potted plant. My mom and I went to to the home depot garden center the other day and there\'s tons potted plants that would look great, including some different palms that would be great for a tropical ceremony. 19 May 2009 20:19

I would suggest a visit to the dollar tree. everything is a $1 and if you were creative you could have something very nice!

im getting married and we have been thinking about two different color of sand (blue for grooms family and white for brides) in layers in a glass setting for the centerpieces. symbolizes the blending of the two families.
