Help! Giving the bride away
Help!

My maid of honor is also my best friend and is just like an older sister to me. She has two sons, one who is currently 3 1/2 (he will be 5 at the wedding) and the other is 2 (he'll be 4 at the wedding).

I know, customarily, that the person giving away the bride should be her father. However, my father is in jail (plus I've never had a relationship with him, as I am only just now getting to know him. Plus he isn't due out of jail until after the planned date of the wedding.), and I'm not close with my mother.

Her maid of honor's kids are my godchildren. Would it be wrong for me to have the older one give me away at the wedding, and have the younger one as the ring bearer?
