There are so many different options for spring wedding cake designs – this one features preserved wild flowers that look like they are growing right up the sides of each of the four layers. A simple white buttercream icing creates a backdrop for the flowers that really shows them off perfectly. Yes, the flowers are real, but have been preserved. No, they should not be eaten – they are for decoration purposes only! Image courtesy of Aiala Hernando Photography.

This simple chocolate ganache cake features four layers, each covered in a different color of fondant frosting – soft pink for the bottom layer, ivory yellow for the second layer from the bottom, white for the second layer from the top, and back to the use of light pink for the top layer. Each layer also featured a different design in the frosting. The base of the cake is trimmed in light pink. Aside from tulips, daffodils, hyancinth, and apple blossoms or cherry blossoms, one of the flowers that comes to mind first when you think of spring is the lilac. It blooms in a variety pastel colors, and with its cluster of little tiny petals, it offers a very full and abundant look. This colorful spring wedding cake is covered in pretty lilacs and it absolutely SHOUTS “spring”! You have the option of having your cake decorator fashion the lilacs out of fondant (it’ll be pricey!), or use silk lilacs on the cake. Wedding cake design by Hilary Rose Cupcakes.
Apple blossoms and adorable animals frolicking about (look very closely at the bottom tier!) create a unique spring wedding cake that captures the spirit of nature that is so representative of spring. This four tier cake looks much taller than it is thanks to the use of a white porcelain cake stand for elevation. This is a great tip for adding height to your wedding cake without all the additional cost that comes along with increasing the height and size of the actual cake. Smooth white fondant serves as the backdrop for the fondant cherry blossoms and darling creatures. The top of the cake is crowned by an impressive cluster of flowers fashioned from fondant. See below for a similar style of apple blossoms spring wedding cake elevated on a white porcelain cake stand in a different color scheme and slightly different styling details.
