A really pretty wedding reception table doesn’t have to be elaborate. Pulling simple elements together can often produce a powerful result. That’s exactly what we’ve done here. These simple DIY napkin holders were fun to make, but really easy. They are cut in the shape of stars using gold colored cardboard. They do the trick to add a little something special to each place setting.
Take inspiration from the other decor elements on the table as well, and you can put together the full package. DIY it and it will look amazing while remaining easy n the budget.
How to Get this Look:
Here a salmon colored table cloth sets the backdrop for the rest of the design. Mercury glass votive candle holders of various shapes and sizes are clustered and positioned at the center of the table, and run the entire length of the table.
The gold and bronze candle holders pick up the hue and refection of the table cover as they shimmer by the candlelight.
The clear glass charger plate coordinate well with the simple, classic wine glasses and water goblets.
A plain white linen napkin is positioned in the center of the charger, and accented with a large gold star to complement the gold mercury glass candle holders.
Make the DIY Napkin Holders:
To make the star napkin holders, simply use a stencil and an exacto knife to cut stars (roughly 5″ diameter) out of light card stock paper, gold in color. Everything you need can be found in your local craft supply store – including the star shaped stencil.
For a variation on this look, spray each star with spray adhesive and dust with glitter.
To get an entire theme going throughout the wedding with this look, combine this idea with the glitter stars DIY wedding ceremony aisle decorations we featured earlier.
